I just came back from watching Sex and the City 2. It was as good as I expected it to be… or maybe better. I am not going to give away too much just in case you haven’t watched it yet, but I tell you that Mrs. and Mr. Big are having a big dose of reality, now that they are Mr. and Mrs. Preston, living the American (or New York dream) in their amazing apartment, with a huge walk-in closet. Kind of boring actually… for Carrie especially.
The movie is very funny and entertaining, and the fashion is beyond amazing.
However, the story is allegedly taking place in Abu Dhabi, but the movie was shot in Morocco. For people who visited those two countries know that Morocco and Abu Dhabi don’t look exactly the same even though they have sand dunes in common. It was difficult for me, who visited both countries, to ignore the fake scenes, especially when it comes to showing the shoes sold in the Souk. The only one pictures related to Abu Dhabi in the movie was the high-rise buildings, and then everything looked like Morocco. You might find fake Birkin bags in Abu Dhabi but not the Moroccan Aladdin shoes.

I have to say that Samatha was the shining star in the movie, with her over the edge personality.
Charlotte and Miranda slipped into the classic housewives role, with déjà vu stories.

If you haven’t seen it yet, go grab a girlfriend and go see it.
What is charming about this movie is it makes us proud being women. Especially if you live in the United States.
Seeing the movie today, was for me a great way to start my long Memorial week-end, and I will be, from now on, appreciating more the snuggling on the couch and watching TV with my husband (if you watched the movie you will know what I am talking about), have a nice week-end everyone
Nice review. Ignorance will be bliss for me as I have never visited either country; however, I’ll be questioning the scenery and back drops the whole time now though.
Have a great holiday weekend!
Thanks Shanna, you will enjoy it am sure

Have a great week-end:)

My fiancee’ would also Charles, at least.. I hope she would… Oh no, I just had a flash back from “Atomic Gator’s Site” ( Which, by the way I was beamed here from) After seeing that Law and Order guys picture…isn’t he like Count Dracula, the 42nd?
I didn’t read the review only because my wife is taking me to see it this weekend. Hey, she goes to my “guy movies” so I guess I need to return the favor
How you doing?
Hey Scott, thanks for leaving a comment even without reading it!

I appreciate your visit
You will enjoy it!
There was lots of men in the audience.

How are you?
Mirella
Hi Mirella,
I saw the movie last night and liked parts of it. I haven’t been to Abu Dabi or Morocca – just as well. I actually thought the scenes in Abu Dabi were the weakest in the film – just a bit too silly. Anyway, I’m glad I saw it, but I would prefer they stayed in New York.
Deb
I agree with you, if they had the movie only in New York city it would have been wonderful!
In fact people like to see Sex and the City because of New York and their lives their. The Middle Est scenes were so weak like you said.
If they let them shoot in Dubai or Abu Dhabi it would have been different, Dubai is like and adult Disney world and they would have plenty of exotic places to shoot, not like this lame hotel!
Anyway, we love it and it is enough for me that the Sex and the City girls were in it.
Thanks Debra for giving your opinion.
Mirella
Hi Mirella,
I love the girls too. I loved the show and have watched some of the episodes several times. I love New York, I have spent quite a lot of time there, and love to see my favourite places on screen. I have been to Dubai and thought it fabulous.
Deb
I hate Sex and the City with a passion, but I guess that does not really matter here!
)) I’m so glad you had a good time. As for the Morocco-Abu Dhabi aspect of it: people don’t want to be shown the truth, neither on screen nor off it. They merely want some cultural stereotypes confirmed, that’s all.
. Sending hugs and kisses your way!
How are you, my dearest? Long time no talk
Thanks Jade, I missed you too! I was telling Charlie in my comment on the recent post that I have been living outdoor and hardly go him LOL LOL LOL…. got to catch on your blog and his soon:)
Love
Mirella
Well go ahead you two, speak in code… We guys will figure it out one day…
Of course, we will probably figure out the Mayan Calender by then… God Bless, and keep up the great work here Macfly.. I mean Crackin..
LOL I love this site!!!
Of course, then I was the only guy raised in a house with four sisters, and..wait, one of them was my mama. And you would probably think that I would be the ONE guy who get’s it here:
But, I never spoke the language, so, I really didn’t stay at home a lot…
But, I will definitely be hanging here a bit, just to try and figure out what I missed during those black out years…
Thanks Sonsothunder, I was overwhelmed by your presence on my blog!
Thank you for reading and thank you for leaving comments.
Mirella
Well, that’s what blogerville is all about aint it ? A bunch of overly opinionated neighbors butting into everyone else on the blocks business? Well, okay, one of us is overly opinionated, and if that’s the one and only thing that everyone here can agree on… then I ‘ll own up to it…
Like I can deny it right?
