Jim and I went hiking on Saturday. We took a new trail called after Francis Thornton who bought land in 1740 and built a mansion. I didn’t take a picture of the mansion but we took other pictures to share with you, once again. The hiking was amazing, it was 10.6 miles (around 17 kilometers). We came back refreshed, we filled our lungs with first hand O2, and our clothes with ticks; you know those little parasites that suck your blood?

Beautiful pic’s and Tic’s! I lived in DC for 5 years and I never got to Shenandoah, I feel bad about that but can’t do it all. I can now thank you for taking me there.
You are so sweet Rich for saying that and for being the first to comment:)
Too bad you are not here anymore, I would have loved to see your princess Ava, your boy and your beautiful wife:)
Have a great day Rich!

Looks beautiful. I can’t wait to get back to VA. Less than a month now. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos, and I’m glad you had a great time.
I love VA and love living here. Cannot wait to meet you Gwen, I hope will find time to do it before I leave.
That looks idyllic! So peaceful… and you can almost smell the fresh air and the solitude. I haven’t been out of town for what seems an eternity. It’s great that the two of you share so much of your time, and love doing similar things. In the end I guess it’s that which truly makes a couple bound.
Thanks Jade. Yes it is important to share things in a couple.
The real bonding for us comes after the hike: sharing the big cheesy pizza! LOL LOL
We love most of all the junky junkiest food we eat at the end of the hike. Well earned.
Really beautiful pics!
I love your blog
You are so sweet Marinela, I love your poems too.
You are an angel and I love you!
I swear, my shoulders dropped and I just breathed in a little more deeply when I saw the beautiful creek. So relaxing! I needed that today! How long did it take you to do 10 miles?
It took us 6 hours, we always finish the first half in 2 hours and then we ( I ) draaaaaaaggg for the rest of the distance, the last mile probably took us 2 hours to finish, LOL LOL LOL LOL
You will not believe me if I tell that Jim and I were talking about you most of the time, then it turned into a disagreement about men and women, so we shut up!
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
Just to tell you that you are on our mind babygirl and we love you:)
Mwah!

Even though I hate ticks, I must admit that the landscapes look wonderful and your face so relaxed after the effort… You must have felt great! Love
Thank Alicia,
I want to tell you that your new blog look amazing! I love the pictures of the paintings, are they your husband’s?
Take care my dear.

The forest looks wonderful. I have not been to your area, but I have been further north, near Boston and it was lovely too. I’m pleased you had such a nice day.
Debra
Debra, being here in this region is like a dream!!!
We are trying to benefit from the forest as much as we can before moving to the desert
Thanks Debra Have a wonderful afternoon!

You just reminded me why I do not like camping or anything involving extensive time in the great outdoors…bugs…sorry to say I love visiting the great outdoors…but alas…I’d rather watch it on National Geographic when it comes to the bugs.
..Just love hearing about your adventures!
I was so much like you, city boy:) but it took one time in this magical place to convert me:)
I guess your are more of a Tunisian sand cities adventurer? lol lol (teasing you)

Dear Mirella, would you do us all the honor and be the next interviewee on my blog? Just mailed you your set of questions this morning. I’m dying for the answers! As I guess we all are
.
Have a beautiful day, at least as beautiful as you!
My dear dear Anna,
Thank you so much for this opportunity, I read your questions and I loved them, it is an honor for me to be a guest on your blog.
Your question are so interesting and smart!
I am traveling to Annapolis today and I will be out all day, but tonight I will work on the questions and send them to you as soon as possible!

You’re making me miss the DC area! Shenandoah is beautiful. I didn’t get there enough when we lived in Virginia. But I don’t have to miss the ticks. We have plenty of those in Ohio right in my backyard.
Oh my god, you live with ticks in your backyard? you are a courageous woman Kathleen
We saw one tick on my husband’s leg and two on my pants, it is still giving me nightmare till now. LOL LOL LOL.
But what can I say: Shenandoah is worth it!
I loved your recent post about Facebook, it is really good!
Thank you for posting a comment, I appreciate it:)
